FLIPSIDE 16:

by Paul Problem

This was the last ever show of any kind at the Masque. To top it off, the LA Pig Department came out with the Fire Department to stop our party.

The Mau Maus put this on, yet never got to play. Black Flag started as people showed up. A lot of people who never saw BF enjoyed their true punk attitude. Next the Black Hearts, the band Maddog put together the day before. Gary Argyle on bass, Dan Avenger on drums, Maddog on vocals, and her roomate on guitar. It was all a joke to Maddog, while the band was really trying. Maddog kept bumping into band members and fucking 'em up and getting 'em mad. They did six songs. Then the first appearance of NY's Smart Pills. These guys are good but sounded better later on when they played King's Palace. UXA started a neato set when three quarters of the way through their set the LAPD and the Fire Marshall showed up and said, "Hi, can we join your party?" We all left. The smell they made was too much to take, even in the Masque.
