NEGATIVE APPROACH ARE:
TV: Are you happy with the demo for your EP?
O.P.: We're pleased with the way it came out.
John: I can't wait till it fucking gets pressed.
Rob: Gosh, I like it swell.
Graham: Yes...
TV: How do you think the new lineup differs from the old one?
Rob: We're having more fun at practices.
John: The reason the old band split up was practicing wasn't fun at all. It just got to a point where we I couldn't practice together. We were fighting all the time. I just couldn't take Zuheir's complaining about white slavery. Pete quit the band because of that. Then we kicked Zuheir out. The new band is great. Every one is into practicing and everyone writes tunes.
TV: Has having a red haired drummer improved your sex lives?
O.P.: Duh, I dunno.
Graham: They can't get enough.
John: Yeah, it's great. People confuse him for that sex god Barry Henssler.
Rob: We get all their leftovers.
O.P.: Yeah right...
TV: Hey big John, what's it like living above Clutch Cargos? Do you miss the clubhouse?
John: It's pretty cool. We don't have to pay for shows. They're getting some cool shows there now. We still practice at the clubhouse. It got to a point where it was fucked living there. We didn't have heat or running water. The clubhouse is still a cool place to hang out though.
TV: Why did YOUTH PATROL break up? Come on give us the hot poop...
O.P.: I wasn't having fun. I'd rather play drums than guitar...
Graham: I realized that it wasn't going anywhere. Our songs weren't very original...but it was fun playing with Bud.
TV: Where is this scene headed?
Rob: Nowhere, it's staying right here. yuk yuk
Graham: It's going to get larger...it s growing now.
John: Summer's going to be good, new bands are forming left and right...
TV: Do you agree with certain outsiders who say it's only a matter of time before out-staters start subdividing the Detroit/Midwest scene?
John: All the bands know each other. It's not a who's best situation. Detroit's cops are nothing like LA's. Cops here don't fuck with anybody. New punks and skins come to every show. I think it's great that our scene is so strong now to let any outsiders divide us all up.
Graham: No one's going to let anyone fuck with anybody...
TV: What are your current fave bands?
John: 4 SKINS with Hodges. MISFITS, SOA and ALICE COOPER...
Graham: BLACK FLAG, MINOR THREAT, SOA and THE MISFITS...
O.P.: NECROS, MINOR THREAT, MISFITS and THE ALLIED...
Rob: SOA, NECROS, MEATMEN, and SWEET...
TV: What do you think has been the hottest thing to happen of late in Detroit?
John: "Harold" and everyone is skating again...
O.P.: Definately. It's the re-established skate scene...
Graham: The opening of the Freeser Theatre...
Rob: They opened the Mini Baja season at Endless Summer (Skateboard Park,ED).
TV: Any new tunes in the works? Who writes em?
Graham: "Live Your Life" and "You're Always wrong."
John: I write the lyrics and all of us write the music.
TV: Who does the angry rabbit on your tape? Who is Bud? Is he gay?
ALL: Graham does the "angry rabbit."
Graham: Bud is only the swingiest sex god I know besides Tesco.
John: He drums for the Allied...
Rob: He's not gay, he's just miserable, not very gay...
TV: Why is D.A.B.F. being left off the EP?
John: D.A.B.F. is going to Finland for a compilate record. FINLAND loves fast music.
TV: Why do John's buns send the girls into cold fits? Why is Rob into listening to Gino Vannelli records while he beats off?
Graham: It's not his buns, it's his wavy hair...
Rob: It's his penis length.
John: Fuck that, Robs favorite mag is Phenis.
O.P.: Let's face facts John sports some nice buns...
Rob:Because the MEATMEN ep wasn't out yet...END
