BETTER YOUTH ORGANIZATION

I first came into concat with the Better Youth Organization when they were at Godzilla's. They were hired by Frank, and in turn hired bouncers on a trial and error basis. I saw a lot of the "error" bouncers (kids beatin in the heads of those smaller).

They then managed to scam a show at the hollywood palladium, featuring LA hardcore acts. One of the largest hardcore gigs in history (nearly 3,000 people). It was naturally a bouncer bloodbath, but also a large accomplishment for the BYO. Besides, we sold a lot of mags.

Since then, the BYO have used their funds wisely and have established themselves as important figures in the LA hardcore scene. The three kingpins, Sean, Mark, and Adam (who also make up the band Youth Brigade) have, with their pals, put together an album ironically entitled, "Someone Got Their Head Kicked In". It features several local bands.

Though rather new, Youth Brigade are on a national tour already, traveling in their own bus with Social Distortion. They also just completed an album of their own, "Sound and Fury". In the process they've accomplished another scam with Doug Moody of Mystic Studio/Record, a distribution company as an alternative to the poor treatment given to many independent labels by the big distributors. This organization will be a collection of several independent hardcore record companies, and they hope it will gain the power of a major label while maintaining full control of product and profits.
