Touch and Go sampler from 1986. Other than the (exclusive) Big Black tracks, there's not much reason to pick this up.

There seem to be at least two different pressings, one with blue lettering/hightlights on the cover and one with green.

reviews:

Great compilation tape featuring Killdozer, Butthole Surfers, Scratch Acid, and more. Worth it for the two red-hot Big Black tracks alone.

The best thing about this record is that you get to hear all of 'Merica's weirdo fringe bands without havin' to sit through a whole LP of either one of 'em (which can be quite painful to the uninitiated). So, if you've always wanted to hear BIG BLACK, SCRATCH ACID, KILLDOZER, etc., but were too scared t' fork over the dough; you should definitely pick this one up. KILLDOZER's verison of "Sweet Home Alabama" rules and the BIG BLACK stuff is purty damned tasty also. Also, as an added plus; owning this LP will qualify you for the Forced Exposure school of hip without ever having to listen to the SWANS (who thankfully don't appear here). So, whaddya' got t' lose?

Touch & Go Records only seems to improve with age. "...Dog" is a good example of what I mean. You got your Big Black ("Crack Up" will do just that to your skull), you got your Scratch Acid (a much-improved version of "Spit a Kiss"), and you got your other 4 bands, including the globally-renowned Butthole Surfers. (The only band I have trouble with here is Happy Flowers, for whom I have melted special "by-pass grooves" into my disk.) To top this off, T&G have gone and signed Big Black and Scratch Acid to other records...what more could a chick/dude want?
