Discography

During their five years of activity Big Black released a ton of records on many different labels, and a trickle of reissues and bootlegs has continued after their breakup. This discography is pretty complete, but the pages for the individual releases are not. As I acquire more of the records and spend more time on this, the pages for each individual release will include liner notes, reviews, and all sorts of other goodies, but until then you'll have to settle for the half assed shit that's up so far.

Everything on Touch and Go is in print and widely available (except for the two limited edition sets, and the two promo only records)--try CDnow, Half.com, or Amazon. At the heart of Big Black's catalog on Touch and Go are Songs About Fucking, their final album, Hammer Party, a CD collection of the Lungs, Bulldozer and Racer X EPs, and the Rich Man's Eight Track Tape, which contains 9/10 of Atomizer, the Headache 12" and the Heartbeat 7". Get them all if you can afford it, but if not, just the Rich Man's Eight Track Tape will serve admirably. Everything else is out of print and increasingly hard to find.
